At the Earth’s Core

This is another movie in a series starring Doug McClure venturing into the most fantastic places. Earlier I have posted samples of another of these movies: Warlords of Atlantis. This movie has the same composer, Mike Vickers. And this score also, has not been released in any format.
But unlike Warlords, the music cues are quite sparsed and the number of sound effects are higher. However, there are very good music cues and both the opening and closing titles are good examples. In Fight for Dia there is a music cue that is repeated many times throughout the movie, and it sets the mood of the scene.

The movie is based on the book of Edgar Rice Burroughs, who wrote many of these Lost World stories, but who is most known for writing Tarzan.
McClure is as adventorous as ever, Peter Cushing as an over the top Professor, and Caroline Munro in all her glory with few clothes, reminding me of how she looked in Starcrash.
