As a follow-up of the recent Bond share, this time we have a compilation of some demos and alternative versions of the famous Bond songs. Not cover versions, but the real thing, or as close as it might be. Some were found in official releases, but some are not, so just enjoy it.

With the release a new Bond film I thought it would be a good idea to share this one. Is a compilation that I’ve been working on for some time now. It includes many reported Bond songs that never made it to the final cut. There are some reports that a few were actually considered as Bond songs, but for the rest, we can’t tell much. So, instead of claim that all of the songs in this compilation are actually rejected songs, I see them as Inspired by the movies.

Whenever possible, I have bought the original CDs or traded for the unofficial releases. You can have a clue of which ones were extracted from the actual CDs and which ones were downloaded as mp3 from several different sources from my Bond music list.

After our Barry Month, I decided to lighten up a little, and I found this british movie that is kinda funny. ‘Zeta One’ is a spy parody in an sci-fi setting and a lot of semi-nude girls. So this is what you might call a B-movie, a very entertaining one.

And I noticed the music was surprisingly good, so I ripped the music and here it is. The dialog is still there but just listen the score and you will find enjoy the music. There is a main song but the singer is uncredited. The composer is John Hawksworth, which appears as Johnny Hawksworth.

The movie joins Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton again, but the results are not what you expect. This film based on a Tenessee Williams’s play was criticized for miscasting Burton as a young figure in the film.

There is an official LP release but not a CD release yet. Most of the music is already in the LP release, but if you want to hear many of the cues with Burton speaking, which is like narrating, here it is.

This film was starred by Karen Black, Donald Sutherland, William Atherton, Burguess Meredith, among other familiar names. The music was composed by John Barry plus several songs from the movie’s era. There is an official LP soundtrack but was not released into CD format yet.

This is the complete soundtrack, with all the dialogue and sound effects. Many of the songs are heard in the background, but I have listed the names of those that matches the song names from IMDB.

This was the first movie with John Barry composing for a film. As you might expect it, it bears the Barry’s Seven sound and to a rock-oriented movie nonetheless. There is an official LP release but I’m not sure if there is an official CD release. Anyway, you will find 40 tracks ripped from the movie, I hope you enjoy them.

This month I am starting the “Barry Month”, and just last week I shared The L Shaped Room where Barry composed the new music but now we are in full throtle with this share.

The music for Walkabout was composed by John Barry, was directed by Nicolas Roeg, with Jenny Agutter (the girl), Luc Roeg (the white boy) and David Gulpilil (the black boy). This very interesting movie was released by Criterion and from that, I ripped the music.

Besides Barry’s score, you will hear excerpts from Stockhausen’s “Hymnen” and a few songs heard from the radio in the film. There is a rerecording with some of the tracks but here is the complete soundtrack. There is some dialog and sound effects, but it is great to listen to.

Next month, June, will be devoted to John Barry’s music and I have already ripped some scores that I hope you will enjoy. As an bonus to Barry’s fans, here is one film with some music composed by him.

This film directed by Bryan Forbes was starred by Leslie Caron, Tom Bell and Brock Peters. The music is mainly the Brahms’ No.1 Piano Concerto heard all over the film. The only new music were two tracks written by John Barry and performed by Barry’s Seven, and one or maybe two other tracks with Barry’s Seven cues.

This Howard Hawk’s movie was not a big success like his previous movie, Hatari! also with Mancini music. The reviews were not enthusiastic but is not a bad movie, it is a very enjoyable comedy and some call this Prentiss best acting. Hudson is charming as ever so if you have time to watch it, do it!

As for the music, you can’t miss with a Mancini score, but this soundtrack only had the title song released officially, the rest of the score is very good, take a listen!

This first movie of Tom and Jerry’s adventures was not well-received but the fans when you see Tom and Jerry talking and to each other! But if you forget is a Tom and Jerry movie, then is a good family film with songs at all.

The fault is not of course, of Mancini’s music, which was released in an official CD soundtrack. Here you will find the complete score, with more music. Please buy the CD and use this score just for more music.
